Eligibility Requirements For Down Payment Assistance
Nazareth Housing offers down payment assistance to qualified buyers. You may be a qualified buyer if you meet these criteria:
- Are a first time homeowner – or not owned a home in the last 3 years
- Meet the current HUD Income Limits – see the chart to the right
- Successful completion of an approved Homebuyer Education Program – we will refer you to our excellent non-profit partner providers
- Have a high enough income to support a mortgage
- Have a housing savings of your own money for down payment and closing costs. The agreed upon amount must be available at the signing of the Purchase Agreement
- Be willing to work hard for your own home!

Submit an Online Application
If you would like to submit a convenient, online application, please follow these steps:
- Download and Save the Nazareth Electronic Application – PDF (right click on link and select Save Target As) and open it with Adobe Reader. Please follow this link if you do not have Adobe Reader installed. This file is an interactive PDF, which means that you can complete it by typing in the fields using your computer.
- Complete ALL required fields using your computer keyboard and SAVE the application to your hard drive. Close the file and open it again after saving to double check that the information has been saved.
- Fill out the short form below. When you reach the “Attach Your Application” part, simply click ‘Choose File’ and browse to the PDF you just completed on your computer. We will receive your application file and all of your contact information when you click ‘Submit Your Application.’
